MCG celebrates the ‘dog days’ of summer

Monday, June 29, 2009

Moore Consulting Group celebrated Take Your Pet to Work Day on Friday by hosting their furry friends at the office.  An unwritten policy, Moore Consulting Group regularly allows pets to accompany their owners to work—just as long as they don’t try to answer the phone! Studies have shown that companies allowing pets at work on a regular basis have experienced improvement in employee morale. A study by the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association indicates that having pets in the workplace can create a more productive work environment, lower stress and decrease employee absenteeism.

Joining in the celebration of Take Your Pet to Work Day was Jim Hunt’s rescued Shih Tzu, Bailey, and Bindi, a mixed breed Amanda Fliger adopted from the Gadsden County Humane Society.

Senior Account Executive Amanda Fliger was honored recently with the American Lung Association of the Southeast Board of Directors’ Chairman’s Award. The award is given annually by the chairman to a distinguished board member of his/her choice in recognition of their commitment and service to the organization.

Fliger has worked closely with the Lung Association for several years, providing strategic counsel and support for their state and regional media relations, advocacy and collateral development efforts. As a Big Bend region board member, Fliger’s commitment earned her additional recognition as the top individual fund raiser for the 2009 Lung Walk, held annually to promote lung health and raise money for research and advocacy supported by the American Lung Association.

“Amanda’s work at Moore Consulting Group has taken our corporate marketing and communications from great to extraordinary,” said Brenda Olsen, chief operating officer. “Her knowledge of and commitment to our issues have made her a vital member of the Lung Association family.”

Moore Consulting Group is the top-ranked healthcare public relations firm in the Southeast, according to O’Dwyers. Amanda Fliger’s communications efforts on behalf of the American Lung Associations in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina have also garnered attention within the public relations field, earning local and state Image Awards by the Florida Public Relations Association.
