Thursday, April 28, 2011
Moore Consulting Group has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Tallahassee Democrat. The organization was selected out of more than 50 companies in the business/government agency category and recognized at a special luncheon this afternoon.
“Our team is dedicated not only to providing the highest quality service to our clients, but to making our community a better place to live,” explains Karen Moore, founder and CEO of Moore Consulting Group, who accepted the award on behalf of the team. “Since Moore Consulting Group began in 1992, community service has been an important part of our mission, and it’s a pleasure to be honored as Volunteer of the Year today.”
Moore Consulting Group was recognized for such programs as its popular 10 in 2010, a pro bono community outreach program in which the firm donated more than 500 hours to helping 10 area organizations brainstorm solutions to their communications challenges.
In addition to the 10 in 2010 program, Moore Consulting Group developed and conducted in 2010 the Ryde for Babies to benefit the March of Dimes. In partnership with Sweat Therapy Fitness and Anheuser Busch, it conducted an eight-hour indoor cycling marathon at Sweat Therapy Fitness studio with hundreds of participants from the community to raise money for the March of Dimes Walk for Babies. The event raised $13,000, which was $5,000 above the original goal.
For 2011, Moore Consulting Group associates have collectively committed to providing 2011 hours of pro-bono community service throughout the Tallahassee region. Moore Consulting Group associates have voluntarily signed a pledge to 78 hours or more of service to the community and agency colleages.
