Moore Consulting Group, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Shannon Colavecchio as director to our award-winning communications team. Colavecchio comes to Moore Consulting Group from the St. Petersburg Times, where she served as a reporter covering politics and education from the Times' state bureau in Tallahassee. She previously worked in Gov. Charlie Crist's communications office as deputy press secretary and speechwriter. Colavecchio’s areas of expertise include media relations, community relations, legislative affairs, education, and fitness and health.

“Shannon’s experience within media and within state politics and communications are a great asset to the Moore team,” said Karen Moore, CEO and founder of Moore Consulting Group. “We look forward to the strong skills and energy she brings to the firm and our partners and clients.”

A Florida native, Colavecchio covered a broad range of topics while working for the state’s top newspaper. She reported on everything from local and state law enforcement to K-12 education and the state university system. She was part of the Times’ Capital bureau, the largest and most highly regarded source for state news. It was Colavecchio’s reputation for fairness, accuracy and enthusiasm that helped her secure a valued post within Gov. Crist’s administration. Her energy and dedication extends to the Tallahassee community she calls home. Colavecchio mentors for Leon County Schools, and she is a certified indoor cycling instructor and personal trainer, leading boot camps and classes and authoring a popular fitness blog.
